The Newgate 180 Continuing Care Program

During residential treatment, clients work with a Continuing Care Counsellor to develop an individualized Recovery Plan. This plan serves as a roadmap, helping clients apply the skills and strategies they’ve developed in treatment to maintain their recovery beyond residential treatment.

After completing the 30-day residential program, clients continue to have weekly counselling sessions with their Continuing Care Counsellor to offer support, ensure they are following their Recovery Plan and provide any intervention as needed. These sessions can be completed in person or virtually, depending on the client’s preference.

Family Program

Addiction is a disease that affects not just the individual but also their closest relationships. At Newgate 180, we believe that recovery is a shared journey. The Newgate 180 Family Program provides clients’ loved ones with a community of support. Throughout the year and, in many cases, beyond, loved ones attend weekly sessions that provide valuable insights into addiction, recovery and available resources.

Continuing Care Stabilization

Throughout recovery, there will be moments of progress, but also times of struggle, where old triggers, stress or self-doubt may arise. The key to long-term recovery is learning how to navigate these ups and downs, utilizing healthy coping strategies and support systems and knowing when to ask for help. 

If a client relapses or risks relapse at any point during the Continuing Care program while following their Recovery Plan, we provide a one-week in-house stabilization period. During this time, clients can return to residential treatment to get back on track. The Continuing Care Stabilization is free of charge and is at the discretion of the client’s care team.

Ongoing Support

Recovery is not a journey that ends after one year. That is why our program works to provide clients with the tools and strategies to sustain recovery long-term. After graduation from our program, clients are always welcome to return to Newgate, whether that be for a refresher group or session with their care team. 

This is a lifelong commitment Newgate 180 will make to you and your family, and again, Newgate 180 is an all-inclusive program, meaning there are no additional fees for our Continuing Care program.
