Graduated from the University of Ottawa with a BA (Pre-Med) in 1973 and obtained his Juris Doctor certificate in 1980. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1981, practiced as a sole practitioner for 6 years and thereafter was employed as a director/lawyer in community legal clinics for 28 years until his retirement in June 2017. He has been a Board member since 1997.
