POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY:  Addiction Counsellor

 

Location:  Merrickville ON

Newgate 180 is seeking an Addiction Counsellor for a regular part-time position to work with both men and women under the supervision of the Executive Director.

Duties:

  • Conduct Client assessments and develop individualized treatment strategies
  • Facilitate group counselling sessions
  • Provide individual counselling
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up contact with clients
  • Clinical Note writing/charting
  • Provide family counselling
  • Prepare final reports and correspondence with employers and family members

Qualifications:

  • A related University degree or Community College Diploma in Social Work or Chemical Dependency Counselling
  • Willing to work towards certification
  • 2 years + related work experience

Demonstrated abilities:

  • To provide individual and group counselling to people with alcohol and/or drug dependency problems
  • To understand and implement individual addiction recovery plans
  • Knowledge of client groups
  • Excellent oral & communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Participatory consultation, planning and action
  • Team management & conflict negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and closely with others

Shifts:             24 -32hrs/Week

Days / Evenings

Salary Range: $17.67 to $ 19.23/hour

Duties:

  • Facilitate group counselling sessions
  • Provide individual counselling
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up contact with clients
  • Clinical Note writing/charting
  • Provide family counselling
  • Prepare final reports and correspondence with employers and family members

Qualifications:

  • A related University degree or Community College Diploma in Social Work or Chemical Dependency Counselling
  • CACCF or ICADC certification or equivalent
  • 5 years + related work experience
  • Salary based on qualifications and experience
