As a private, not-for-profit organization, we provide a personalized, one-year program consisting of a 30-day residential component followed by 11 months of ongoing care and support. Newgate 180 is dedicated to restoring our clients’ dignity and hope for a better life, especially one free from their addiction.

The Newgate 180 Family Program
Newgate 180 is dedicated to building a Community of Care and Support for each of our clients. The foundation of this Community is the active participation of a client’s family. Our Family Program provides counselling, education and support to a client’s loved ones for 12 months.

Our men’s centre is located on the banks of the Rideau River, with our women’s centre just a short walk away. Newgate 180 is located in the beautiful and historic village of Merrickville, Ontario. We’re just a 30-minute drive from Ottawa, 45 minutes from Ogdensburg, N.Y., and less than 3 hours from Toronto and the GTA.

Men’s and Women’s Programs and Residences
We manage two separate residences, one for men and the other for women. Our women’s residence is “female only” and a safe space for our female clients.
In addition, our women’s program is designed and delivered by our female counselling team.

Our residences are designed to be “ just like home”. They are relaxing, safe and comfortable places.
Clients enjoy a wide range of amenities, including canoeing, kayaking, fishing and sightseeing in the village of Merrickville.

Our dedicated Admissions Team responds quickly to all phone calls and e-mails. They’re usually available 7 days a week from 8 am to 9 pm. Whether you’re a loved one, an employer, union rep or someone in need, we’ll do all we can to answer your questions and help you take the first step to recovery.

Easy-to-Understand, All-Inclusive Fees
Our fees are paid once and include everything. They cover the cost of our complete treatment program for 12 months after admission. Our fees also include ongoing care for a second year. Our promise: No surprises or “extras” later on. And no HST.

We believe it’s essential to support our clients’ families over the first 12 months. We build a community of care to help clients stay on their path to recovery.
Each client’s community of care can be extended to their employer and others, if appropriate.

Help Getting Admitted ASAP
Our Admissions Team will do all they can to help someone in need get admitted as quickly as possible. This includes talking with their employer, union or referring agency, working with their insurance provider, and helping to arrange the financing of our fees.
